Here's the thing about Ottis Toole, though. A cold-case investigator looked at all the evidence in Adam Walsh's murder at the request of his long-suffering parents. He found some evidence that the Hollywood, FL police managed to lose, including some undeveloped photos of Luminol tests done on Ottis Toole's car. They clearly showed that one of the stories he told over and over to friends and relatives was true -- there's the print of a small child's face on the floormat in the backseat, in blood, right where he said he put Adam's severed head while he was driving. He also showed them to the exact spot on the canal where the head was found after Adam disappeared from the parking lot. That seems like strong evidence to me, even if Jeff Dahmer did live in the area at the time the poor kid disappeared.

They used to come into a shop I worked at in NYC. They seemed like decent people - they were never rude or demanding like other customers could be.
