I personally don't expect much from police officers. But I do expect them to obey laws. And beating an unarmed man to death is something that merits a full scale investigation. Completely open, to the public.

The fact that this entire situation was manipulated, and full disclosure was not forthcoming...means the whole political system, and police force in Fullerton is suspect in complicty in this death of a citizen.

I expect professionalism from police officers, not brutality of thugs. When a man is down, excessive beating is not appropriate. Beating a man to death...no excuse.

I would advice against that. UK media has it's own problems. i.e. - New of the World. The biggest problem is, as left leaning biased as our US mainstream media is, most of the UK press is even worse and decidedly anti-US.

The mainstrea media in the US has it's own issues besides the above - as has been hinted at, why did this not make the news when the Zimmerman shooting did? It has nothing to do with keeping negative events secret due to some vast conspiracy, but the fact that there is less commercial interest as opposed to a shooting that may involve racisim and gun control - two contraversal topics that not only appeal to reporters liberal tendancies, but that means the media can sell more advertisement dollars.

In the UK, any news that portrays the US as some jack-booted violent police state full of cowboys, which in turn feeds steriotypes, is what sells advertisement dollars.

In this day and age, with the internet, there are more outlets to reporting that any mainstream media sources (from both the US and UK/any foreign commercial or government owned news source). I would advise people to seek those out for accurate and balanced reporting. Not BBC, not DailyMail (a tabloid rag), not ABC, not CNN, not FOX etc.
