75 year old NC lady visiting grave of husband, was pushed to the ground and a gun to her head, while other punks broke into car, stealing money, purse etc.
No, not in a major city, actually a small town. Can we not go anywhere without expecting attack, robbery etc.?

THEY WERE CAUGHT, BTW
Antwan West and 16 year old accomplice. No pictures on the internet. I can ONLY imagine.
That exact thing happened to my mom years ago; she was at the cemetary to "see" my dad and my daughter and got robbed and threatened. As soon as she told me, I called the police and although they did 'take a statement' from her they also proceeded to tell my mom, and me as well, that there had been a rash of robberies at cemetaries, that my mom was actually lucky because she did not get badly hurt, that another older woman had her head bashed in against the headstone [as if that mattered either way] - I was also so stunned at the general attitude of that police officer [perhaps it was just second nature to him] -- her bag was found later that day w/out wallet of course --I think what bothers me most [aside from the risk of being terribly hurt and of course being very frightened] is how and/or what has happened to young people [yikes, never thought I would ever say that] to be not only so disrespectful to 'our parents' / age but so disrespectful to what a cemetary represents to everyone.
I just cannot imagine -- and of course, one also wonders, in this instance, knowing there were several robberies at specific cemetaries, where was the patrolling?
Glad your mom was ok! Guess my head has been in the sand, I have not heard of this before. Yes, it seems particularly horrible when the person is there to visit/honor/remember or whatever, a special someone. Probably off-guard at that time too.
Crime has escalated from property crime ie stealing hubcaps to personal, like the above crime. THAT is scary indeed.

Hope they do a L-O-N-G time in prison..... but I guess Mr. 16 will just get juvie....which amounts to nothing at all.
They will go to jail, get free medical insurance, capped teeth, exercise to their heart contents, eat three meals a day, with snacks, plus couple's can have sex in trailers and make more babies so you and I can support them, and then come out strong and healthy to hit more people over the head................ ONLY IN AMERICA........ folks, ONLY IN AMERICA.....
yes, there was a rash of this in our area years ago as well. Just do not go there alone, even in broad daylight. There is usually no one there, esp. during the week. And Thieves are always looking for the easy money and the elderly are the easiest to them.
Really sick....I had never heard of these kind of attacks until now. Graveyards are deserted..you know, we just can't go anywhere alone and/or outside of your own house now.
There was a man last week in Charlotte out walking his dog in the morning...shot and killed in a robbery....not that it makes a difference but this was in an exclusive area and he was a higher-up hospital authority at a medical center.
