Since we have two attractions(granddaughters) at Ft Bragg (NC) we tend to go up and down I-95 a few times a year.
It's Shoney's for breakfast....we have certain ones that we like the best and usually just a grab and go on the last leg....We try to mix it up a bit with McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's.
Two bad customer services experiences with Cracker Barrel ruled them out with hubby. Boohoo....truthfully I don't care enough to be upset. I just like the store.
Chain dinners out would be Red Lobster, Logan's or my DIL's favorite Smokey Bones.
Big secret when traveling, locate a truckstop and enjoy. Prices, service and food are way beyond franchises. If they weren't they'd lose business very fast because word gets out with these truckers.
Never heard of Cracker Barrel, however, I try not to ever eat at chain restaurants unless I"m absolutely famished and about to pass out ... LOL! I like Wendys for their salads.
I can't believe anyone would voluntarily eat at a Cracker Barrel. Vegetables cooked till they're gray.. Unless we can find something local we settle for Subway- at least it's fresh.
Chik-fil-a, Cracker Barrel, and Inn-N-Out would make it to the top. (Gosh, I REALLY miss Inn-N-Out).
Aside from that, I am usually snacking or finding "lighter fares" on the fast food menus at McDonald's, Burger King, Subways, Taco Bell, or Wendy's so that when I get to my intended destination, I can fully enjoy all those great local eateries and such without worrying about gaining 20 pounds during a vacation.
