I don't know much about connecting flights so here goes: we're due to arrive at O'Hare from Denver at 5:18pm on August 3rd and have to make another plane departing at 6:05 to Philly. All flights are United. Could this be possible, especially since I'm traveling with an elderly lady? Thanks.

Some of United's gates are in the main part of the terminal and others are in a terminal where you have to go down thru a tunnel to get to it. If you have a gate in each section it could be tight. You may not have time to stop for food or take a restroom break. When traveling with someone that does not get around well I would recommend requesting assistance getting from one gate to the other. Also if possible, on the first flight get seats near the front of the plane.

Thank you again for your help. After giving it more thought I decided against that flight and booked another one. I'm still going to O'Hare but there's about a two hour layover, which is fine. My mother in law will be in a wheelchair and she does need the bathroom frequently so now she has more time.

As long as the first flight isnt delayed, you could be fine. Ive been to and from Ohare and United has been pretty good about assistance. Thats a pretty narrow time slot though, Ive never run into that with any airline....so far.

Eminently possible.

Call United and stress to them that you have an elderly lady who needs wheelchair assist. They will meet you at the gate and whisk you to your connecting flight.

I did that for my mother-in-law.

Keep in mind, you should be in the same terminal.

Give yourself at least an hour between flights. Especially with someone who doesnt move too fast.

United operates out of both terminals 1 and 2. The vast bulk of the flights are out of terminal 1. Terminal 1 has two sections connected by a tunnel. If the connecting flights are split between the two sections of terminal 1 it will be very tight making the connection even with wheelchair assist. Would depend on how fast the assist person can push the wheelchair.

Be sure to request the wheelchair before the day of the flight. Follow up when checking in for the first flight.

I am looking at flights in Terminal 2. The arrival flight get there at 5:15pm, and my next flight leaves at 5:50pm. Is it possible to make the 2nd flight?

It's possible, but I wouldn't book it for myself. Even a minor delay on your first flight could mean missing your connection, and there are lots of factors that can delay your first flight.
