Have not been to: Alaska, Hawaii, Delaware. Easier to list the ones I haven't been to.
I have found some great places in all the states visited along the way over the years. Some stinkholes as well, but thank goodness those are way less in number than the good places. The biggest pleasant surprise had to be NJ. Simply beautiful state and not what most people think of when hearing the name of the state. It is a shame people tend to think of an entire state by the one thing they know or hear about the most.
Michigan = Detroit
New Jersey = Newark
New York = NYC
Not true in every case listed. All are beautiful states with tons of natural beauty and very rural for the majority of their area.

While I agree with you in theory, I would not agree with you that New York City is a dump as you imply. New York is the financial center of the world, and for the most part is a very nice city. I do not think you should say upstate new york the only good part of new york, as this is not true.
Not nearly enough! I would say four and lived in three others. Pretty sad now that I see it on paper... I mean the screen.
Alabama (to see grandparents at 11 yo)
California (moved here after one visit)
Nevada (it's only 4 hr drive)
Florida (Orlando)
Louisiana (New Orleans is my fav place)
Texas (boring Houston once, and Dallas my future new home)
Georgia (not sure it it counts since I moved there sight unseen)
Passed thru many states while driving to relocate or via a train trip.
