In the U.S.
Best for hanging out: Pittsburgh and Denver
Worst terminals: Newark and Midway
Worst from an experience standpoint: Orlando (keep me away from those screaming Disney kids!)
It's been a long time since I was in Boston's airport; I have absolutely no desire to return due to a most unpleasant experience of being fogged in there. I think for its gargantuan size O'Hare has dull amenities; Atlanta is a better giant. But most of the time I've been stuck in Chicago I've had an airline club to stay in and that helps. The personnel always seemed knowledgeable. It amazes me that as great as San Diego is as a place to visit, their airport is bad. I understand they have no place to build and won't put money into their current inadequate airport. San Francisco used to be like that, too (big difference in the ambiance of the city vs the airport), but I understand they've improved since I was there last. Minneapolis/St. Paul seems efficient. The rocking chairs in Charlotte are fun. I've gotten off a plane in New Orleans and been immediately put in the mood to party.
BEST: I do Like Hartsfield (Atlanta). For such a busy place it does seem to be run very well.
WORST: KC, do they still have security checks at ever gate ? Last time i was there, you had to leave the security check point to go the bathroom..
I see a lot of folks noting that DFW is one of the worsts but I for one like DFW. I don't fly out of there much any more but i like the way the terminals are laid out allowing you to simply drive up to your terminal for drop off or long term parking. You can get from your car to your gate in only a few steps!
I don't remember any of the international airports I've been through, as I was a kid in the 90s when my family was over there.
The worst airport in the US has to be Philly, though. It's outdated, the employees aren't very nice, and the planes are ALWAYS backed up on the runway.
RDU (Raleigh Durham) has my vote for the easiest I've seen, way better than MSP in my opinion. Long term parking is more or less at the front door, its manageable from a size perspective too.
