My fiance and I were there a couple years ago in September and the weather was perfect. 75 in the day and cool down to 60 at night. Paris is very pedestrian friendly so you gonna walk alot. Wear comfortable shoes and Book a hotel or rent an apartment (air bnb) close to one of the Metro station. You gonna be using it a lot. We stayed in the Le Mouffatard area in the Latin Quarter district. Very charming old market street with many nice restaurants, cafes and bars. The area around the Sacre-Coeur is also nice and charming. Small village on top of the hill with nice view of the city below. There's a train by the Moulin Rouge that takes you up the hill to the side of the Sacre-Coeur. Make sure you get to the museums or any tourist attraction early to avoid long line. Recommend: Cafe Les Deux Magot in St. Germain and Laduree famous macarons on Champ-Elysees.
I was in Paris last year in September. Paris is a year-round destination so you can't avoid crowds, but September shouldn't be too crazy. We had a 5-min wait to get into the Louvre. Temps were warm (t-shirt & shorts), but we did have a slightly cooler/drizzly day (light jacket, umbrella) too.
Fewer people = better picture-taking opportunities (i.e. not fighting for the good spots):
