Hey Mary Beth!

Any news on the Toledo/NW forum? It's been awhile and wondered if any progress had been made!

We've continued to have some good chatter!

Thanks again for checking!

You know what, I need to ask Admin again. I've just moved and am not settled yet, and just plain forgot. Thanks for reminding me. I'll let you know when I know, ok?

I doubt Toledo will get one. I don't think the admin really cares. It's been long enough to decide on this and nothing has happened.

Stay positive, friend! Good things will come to the NW corner of OH, I can just feel it!

I know Mary Beth said that the admin was out of town, so maybe a long vacation has let him or her feeling generous...

Thanks for checking again, MB!

Adding new sub-forums is simply about numbers. Toledo is getting close but there is not an overwhelming case to add it yet and a couple sub-forums in other states might be added first. As always, new threads and responses to old ones would help get it started faster.

So what kind of numbers are we talking about? What is the threshold?

As you can see, by the last 10 minutes, I am on a tear.

But Aquila, you're right, it would be helpful to know what kind of numbers we're aiming for. If I weren't so tired, I would fire off another 8 or 10. I just hope we get replies...

So all you NW Ohioans, please join in the cause. Let's make a good push to see if we can get our own little corner of City-Data!

You know, it really shouldn't have to be such a hard push for Toledo to get its own sub-forum. I honestly mean no offense to the admin, since this is his site - but the very fact that Toledo is in its own isolated geographical corner of the state with a significant population seems like enough justification for it to have its own place here. I mean, even the tri-cities in Northeastern Tennessee have their own sub-forum, and they are within 100 miles of Knoxville. What difference does it make how many threads are discussing a particular place? Does it adversely affect the way the boards are set up? Are there limited numbers of slots...? I guess I just don't see what the big deal is...but then again, I don't run a website, either.

I also disagree with the people who say Toledo should just be lumped in with Detroit. If that's the case, why isn't Northwest Indiana lumped in with Chicago?

Oh well.....nothing I can do about this.

We've got 15 of the 30 listed on the most recent page. 50% for little old Toledo! Who'd have thunk it?

Inch by inch, slowly we plod.

Viva TOLEDO!!! (says the girl from Findlay, who's really from Detroit)

No seriously, do we get to count Toledo, BG, Bowling Green, Put-In-Bay, Findlay, NW OH, NW Ohio, Northwest OH, Northwest Ohio and maybe even Lima? We've got a good lot of threads and posts if you look at the greater Toledo area!!!

Just signed up to this blog so I can write on this thread and hopefully get a Toledo subforum. I lived in Rossford for 2 years, but will be moving to downtown Toledo and am so excited for it. I'm 25 and think that being able to walk to so many entertaining things after work or on my days off will be great. And the old buildings arond downtown are just beautiful! Hopefully the area continues to see a regrowth.
