No. American parents - including hispanc-Americans tend to limit family size to the number of children they can afford. Many Americans cannot afford more than 1 or 2 children with the high cost of living in this country - except welfare rewards those who can't afford children, basically pays people to breed.

Having a child costs them nothing at all, the taxpayers pay for the prenatal care, the maternity stay, the pediatric visits. Medicaid patients don't even have to make a co-pay. The parent is given food stamps, WIC coupons for both the parent and children. Head Start provides free babysitting services so the mother gets a nice break plus 3 meals. That allows the mother to use her food stamps and WIC for other purposes.

For the lower class, especially the lower class of other countries, there are no downsides to living on welfare handouts. It beats having to work those low-wage jobs.

In Houston public schools 85-90% of children are on the free lunch program. Same with El Paso and most of Texas cities. More children are being born to unwed mothers, often very young than to working couples.

There are going to be serious problems as the government dependent begin to drastically outnumber the taxpayers.

I TOTALLY agree. Sad that we as a country seem to be intent on cutting our own throats.

The number of kids speaking Spanish these days is falling at a phenomenal rate. I saw on the news that in a class of 30 hispanic children, only 5 were fluent in Spanish.
