I am possibly moving to Texarkana in July. I need help finding an apartment. I also need information on the city itself. I am moving with a job for one year. I will need a place for a total of 13 months. Not real expensive but no cheap and in a bad location. I am married, but my husband will be commuting for the first 6-12 months until I am moved to my permanent location. Any help would be great!!!

From the time period you're giving, I'm assuming you're part of the AMC Fellows Program. If not, this will still be helpful. The Pointe apartments on the Arkansas side are nice, fairly new, and relatively affordable. I know a few people who are in the program who live there and they don't have any complaints. I've visited my friends there many times and would probably have moved there if we had known about them when we moved here. Our reason for that is that it is more affordable than where we live but quite close to being as nice. The Legacy at Pleasant Grove is where we live as do around twelve other people in the program. It's more expensive than anything else around here, but I would say well worth the price. We have been very happy here. There are also quite a few homes/duplexes on Galloping Way that are avaliable to rent, pretty affordable, in a safe area, and pretty nice. There are DEFINITLY parts of the city you will want to stay away from because the crime there is very high. Best of luck on your move.

You don't need to know someone from the inside to get into AMC Fellows. I applied from the outside and was picked earlier this year, but I turned it down because I got tired of the government jack around with that program. Too much changing the rules midstream and them getting upset because you don't know what the rules are and you have to pick up for their slack, but that's govt work for you. Don't have the patience for it. Some people do.

Would any one know, if there is an age limit for the AMC Fellows program?

Sorry, neither my husband nor I are in that program so I can't help you with any of your questions. We learned about it from the people we would meet in our complex who were in it and hung out a few times with some of their friends in it.
