Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with the exemption protecting ones primary residence in Texas? I have a forclosure in MI and am *pretty* sure they cannot put a lien on my house in Texas when I move.

thanks for any information.

Do you have an your Homestead Exemption filed for your house here in TX? If so they should not be able to put a lien on this home unless you've used it as collateral to borrow money. (Or the tax man comes after it)

I havent purchased a house just yet, but will be shortly.

Most states do not protect the primary residence and a persons income from creditors like Texas does. Not even close.

thanks for the reply, looking forward to starting over in TX.
