I also like the fact that the universities are very close to one another in Houston. With the exception of Sam Houston State .
Houston has too many Community Colleges. HCC, Lonestar and some of the others are huge in enrollment.

I would gladly trade some of those for another large size University.
Lone Star College has 90,000 students
HCC has about 60,000
San Jac has ~ 30K
Lee has 10k
Wharton has 6K
Alvin CC has 6k
Brazosport has 4k
Galveston College has 2.5K

That is about 220K in Community college compared to 100k for universities

University of Houston 40k
Sam Houston State 18k
UH Downtown 13k
TSU 10k
Prairie View 9k
UH Clear lake 9K
Rice 6k
St Thomas 4k
HB- 2k

Houston is big enough to have another 30K+ university
Even DFW has two, Austin has two

They are not that far out...lol . But that gap between PV and Houston is slowly fading. Same with Huntsville and Conroe too. Dallas also have good schools as well but I'm starting to see they are playing catch up in a few departments.

You always want to ***** after photos of Houston are posted. You never say anything when its photos of DFW, or when you are overloading with photos. Just look and appreciate.

I think it has something to do with the state considering A&M as being in the Houston region. As the College Station area grows though, it's starting to lose that feel (B/CS now has more local news stations than before and only ABC 13 Houston is shown now from what I remember).

Its Odd that Dallas the city has so few sizeable public Universities. I can only think of the satellite campus of UNT but that only has 2,000 students.

here I am complaining about Houston not having enough when we have 4 public ones in the city itself with more than 8k (3 of them in the loop), three public schools with more than 10k (all three in the loop), and one approaching 40k (in the loop).

I guess if the Universities were not concentrated in the loop, the metro would be more scattered. As it is I like how Rice, UH, TSU and the Universities in the Medical Center share resources. On a whole I like how Houston concentrates things into districts

A&M will be included in our CSA soon. I give it to 2023

Rice,SMU, and Baylor all have better campuses than TCU. Tech has nice architecture but it is still in Lubbock.
TCU got Baylor beat imo. Baylor isn't even the most appealing university in Waco; MCC is located in a much more beautiful area and has some nice architecture.

Yes, everyone I've known who went to PV hated how far out it is. I always thought it would've been "nice" to have it located somewhere around the Acres Homes/Inwood area, or somewhere amongst all that open land along the 290 corridor inside the beltway.
