That may not be the greatest shot ever taken of Texas, but it shows the scale of the place and it is a lovely sky.

I get the feeling that when you took that shot you were in a happy mood, and why not!

My glass is three quarters full as a result of seeing it.

Thank you.
Muhnay;4344932 But for me it only reflects a very small portion of what makes up Texas.
Hi Muhnay, say you've got to remember this is only one teeny, weeny, picture, of course it's only going to reflect a small portion of what makes up Texas. To reflect a large portion of what makes up Texas, well, one would need LOTS of pictures and a LOT of space to post all of them and we can all be grateful for that I think.

Texas has some fun places and friendly people, but we are way behind in education and in many other areas.
Ocean2026, does this mean we'd better all start proofreading our posts before we submit them? After all, this is just a forum made up of complete strangers who post their views, opinions and comments on different subjects. Every so often we are fortunate enough that one of these people will take the time and trouble to post a picture or pictures of our beautiful state to be enjoyed by the rest of us. Oops, almost feel like saying, gee teacher, I didn't know this was going to count for a grade.

I love our beautiful sunsets in Texas. Photos like this remind me why I enjoy sitting on the deck when the sun goes down, having a cocktail, and thanking God everyday for having a home in this great state,

First I want to thank the Moderator for cleaning up the thread. Thank You SmokyMtnGal.

LoneStar2007, Oh I know.. and for the record, I really like the picture. I am always accused of being to serious and not having a sense of humor.. I tried to make a joke from the picture that was not insulting in any way.. It is a picture of the Texas Plains, and I said "I don't know its kinda Plain".. playing off what the picture is. If I insulted the OP with my bad sense of humor, I do apologize. I do like the picture.

( Lonestar a tip on quotes.. the slash / goes at the end of each quote only.. you dont have one at the beginning of each quote you want to set up! think of it as an open and close. Open - no slash, Close - slash and you need one for each quote you want.. or everything between the open and close will be under one quote.)

I appreciate the kind remarks. Ya'll got what I figured was obvious. It is open, free, and one of the few places left where a feller can breathe with out seeing a skyrise, or another strip mall.

To those others who lack the ability to precieve what beauty and tranquility there is in solitude, then I am sorry I did not post a picture of downtown Tokyo. And yes, I have seen Tokyo, for those who think that I have never left the great state of Texas. I've also seen a lot of other places that most people consider beautiful. I wouldn't trade my back yard view for any of them.

Muhnay, I do not know how the moderator took your post, but I personally got a chuckle out of it, and felt no reason for you to have to explain yourself. This Shiner is for you!

I took it quite well. I like that you wrote that the picture evoked emotions in your heart of pride. While it is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder; I think it is also in the heart. Thank you for sharing your feelings and photo with us.

Thank you for the kind words. I only wish I drank... ahh what the heck.. I'll choke it down just for you. =) Make sure to post another picture sometime.. as some of us like wide open spaces. Besides I need another place to put Waldo. heh heh

Again thanks SmokyMtnGal, I figured you took it well.. and got the joke.. because it was still there after your moderation. =) Sorry some people just don't like me, and take every opportunity to try and make something out of nothing.

Do you know how much money people pay for that kind of view? There's an unprecedented move back to the land like the 60s, except this time people are moving away from the city for open spaces, a place where the neighbors know your name, and where old time values are brought back to the forefront.

Land. They aren't making anymore of it.
