77% Funny, 2 East Texans scored the same on the quiz. while my UT educated daughter could probably talk about the Austin Parks and wild lfe, she didn't know who Gen .Swartzcoff was in GW1. She majored in accounting and 6th street.

Really? They only had one question on Mexican food. Quiz Time: Tell me what do you think a tomatillo is.

Actually, a tomatillo is a totally different kind of fruit. (tomatos are classed as fruit, but I agree they taste like a vegetable)

A tomatillo looks like a "Chinese Lantern" because of it's papery shell and the fruit on the inside the shell is yellowish-green. It tastes to me like a cross between corn and tomato. It is used to make "Salsa Verde" which translates to "green salsa." Salsa verde is typically fairly mild and very delicious.

Nope. Sorry. No relation to tomatoes at all, despite the fact that they are often called "tomates verdes."

They are relatives of the gooseberry.

I have some in the fridge.....going to make sauce for enchiladas today!
