Known for its Imperial Easter eggs, the boutique will offer jewelry, timepieces and objects d'art that draw inspiration from Fabergé's history, which dates to 1842.

"Houston is already well-versed in the world of Fabergé with the Museum of Natural Science currently hosting one of the world's largest private collections of Fabergé creations," Fabergé global retail director Meredeth Moss said in an announcement.

"The opening of a new store will further allow Houston to become a prime destination for those wishing to discover Fabergé, past and present."

Is the Houston Galleria no longer a Simon property? It's not on their website.

Anyway, back on topic...

True Religion has closed all of it's DFW area stores. I really like their jeans so that sucks, but the company is downsizing due to bankruptcy. They also closed in San Antonio as well. The Houston Galleria store is still listed as open for now. It seems like brands like: Diesel, True Religion, Joe's, etc. are cutting back on their stores and focusing more on online or dept store sales.

Saks closed both Dallas locations (up the highway from each other) and the Austin location. Ironically they just opened a new Houston store behind the old Galleria store a few months ago.

Another irony is that my neighborhood Radioshack is one of the 70 nationwide still open.

Saks and Barney's closing in DFW totally made sense considering the presence Neiman's has in the area. Other local high-edn dept stores: Stanley Korshak and Forty Five Ten also do well here.
