heh.. heres the link for the temple, with many other great photographs of it.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir - Houston

i give props to Dallas often, but like you i am biased towards my home town. i was in Dallas over the weekend and had a great time playing games and hanging out at Klyde Warren with a buddy of mine, enjoying the excellent weather. i hope Houston does something similar to KW if/when they submerge 59 through downtown.

I agree, that temple is nice. I know some people are opposed, but I am hoping that South Asian museum they're planning for Downtown Dallas actually borrows some style from South Asian architecture like this temple does. Just goes to show that some of the best architecture in both cities aren't necessarily the tallest and more obvious buildings. Really enjoying it, keep em coming.

I like the Midwestern influence within the architectural style of many Dallas and Fort Worth structures.

From what I do know, Dallas offers many architectural styles. French, Mediterranean, and Modern make up the majority.

For top 10 US MSAs, both Houston and DFW are decidedly LAME. Only Phoenix and perhaps Atlanta are worse.
