JR's dead. The dude cut a wide swath thru life & created a character that was both over the top, but also in a way dead on. Many of us knew guys who resembled JR. A classic rascal.

Hagman always seemed to enjoy life & was a cool dude & Texan. (even if he lived in Malibu ).

RIP JR.

I saw the news on his death this morning and was sad to hear it. Yes, he was quite a character (LOL must have been that Texan blood coming out). He was dead on with his portrayal of J.R.Ewing in Dallas and it was a hoot watching him.

Don't know who that is. I guess I'm too young.

Sorry to hear that.

Not surprised. He really was something else as JR, and the series would not have been the same without him, stereotypes and all.

RIP. He, Jim Davis (Jock) and Barbara Bel Geddes (Miss Ellie) can reminisce!

I suppose that means no more Dallas on TNT for a second season.

Cathy4017--I read that he had already recorded some material for the second season, & actually was due on set this next week. It said that they would incorporate his death into the storyline. Also read that Linda Gray was at his bedside along with his kids, when he passed. I guess his poor wife was too ravaged by the Alzheimer's to know how sick he was. RIP, Larry.

That should be interesting!

I read somewhere that Linda Gray was very close to both Hagman and his wife. They took her under their wing during her last divorce.

He was so different from the character he played. He was married to the same woman until his death, which is pretty unusual for Tinseltown.

Larry Hagman was also on 'I Dream of Jeannie' in his youth. I grew up watching that in the early 70's. RIP Larry ~
