Hi, folks. Come hither for just a few moments, because I'd like to throw this ball around. I'd like to see what your favorite Texas landmark is. It could be where you live or a place you like to visit outside your city/town. It could be well-known or unknown. Maybe in this thread, we might reveal a few surprises. You never know. I'll get us started, as I have several favorites, so I'll name one. My favorite is the Sam Houston statue in Huntsville.

So, without further adieu, it's your turn to chime in on Texas landmarks --- so what's your favorite? Ready, set, let 'er rip!

I like the Sam Houston statue, too! Also the Alamo, the Riverwalk, East Texas pines, confederate generals memorial in downtown Dallas, the rolling hills and trees of north Arlington (not exactly a landmark, I know!), Dallas skyline, downtown Fort Worth, Tyler roses, etc., etc.

I live about 1 1/2 hr. from Palo Duro Canyon, our "little Grand Canyon" here in the Panhandle. Is really beautiful, especially this time of year, and planning a trip back this weekend.

Thanks, sberdrow, for that reminder. Whenever I venture out of Texas and on my way back, I always have a little tear when I see the stone Texas monuments at the border. Usually will get out and take just one more pic of it!! I love NM, too, but not enough to live there.
