I have two favorite Texas landmarks:

1. As soon as I cross the Texas/Oklahoma border (Red River) I see the green sign the reads: "Welcome to Texas" "Drive Friendly - The Texas Way."

2. I also like the "Texas Travel Information Center" as soon as I cross the border.

Everytime I see these two landmarks as I am driving in my car, I get chills running down my spine and I just smile and say "it's good to be home in Texas." Man I cannot wait to leave Oklahoma for good.

No. He was referring to the Battleship Texas. That's over right next to the San Jacinto Monument at the battleground area by the Houston Ship Channel.

You are referring to Seawolf Park, which is on Pelican Island. It has a submarine and a destroyer escort...

The picture I posted is the USS Texas...the oldest dreadnought remaining...as has already been mentioned, Texas is at San Jacinto....and I manage to swing by almost every time I'm in the Houston area...

I actually have another favorite landmark and it may be kinda weird but I like the water towers in the suburbs in north Dallas that tell you what city you are in (kinda like the traffic signals that tell you what city you are in, with the exception the the traffic signals within Dallas city limits that just only say the street name in white letters on a green background).

Never have I seen so many water towers in north Dallas suburbs (especially Plano and Carrollton).
