Not sure it is a landmark, but I love Hamilton Pool, especially when it has been ultra hot..

The statue of Stevie Ray Vaughan in Austin.

I would have said Cadillac Ranch, but it looks hideous now with all the spray paint on it. People have no respect.

I've always loved the Franklin Mountains, Muhnay. That star at night is worth driving out there for. Thanks for the great pic!

Default I Love This!

I love all the responses you guys are giving. Keep them coming. This is great!

Galveston also has a memorial. It's on Seawall Blvd, but I forgot the name of that memorial. I think it's near 61st St. Can someone who's from that area tell me the name of it? I've been there, but, sadly, have forgotten much about it.

Another favorite landmark for me is the Hotel Galvez, which is not far from Stewart Beach.

On the Sea Wall the one of neptune? Or the one on your way downtown the huge statue?

1900 Storm Memorial

Or

do you mean the Statue of Victory?

The statue of Victory atop the Texas Heroes Monument points toward the bay, and past that, toward the San Jacinto Battlegrounds on the mainland.
I LOVE THIS PICTURE - Its Big be ready..

That's it! It had a lot to do with the Storm of 1900. You're right on the money, Muhnay. That was the memorial I remembered - it's all coming back now.

The other pics are fantastic, too. I forgot about that Victory statue on Broadway. Thanks for sharing.

There are quite a few memorials along the seawall. There is a small plaque dedicated to a homeless man who live on the island and would sort of patrol the beach. OVer a period of something like 30 or 40 years, he saved 40 something people from drowning. If you have time when you are visiting there, walk along the wall right around sunrise and read all the different plaques and memorials.
