"Though we're often stereotyped as trigger happy and eager to secede, Texas is noticeably absent from the list of deadliest gun states."

Its because we teach our kids early the proper use of a gun.

Guns are used to kill coyotes, food and crazy libralls not each other

That sounds more than a little 'trigger-happy'. I'm a 'liberal' in some respects, but I think gun ownership is one of the rights which liberals should support.

Here is the list. I am from Louisiana and now live in Kentucky and will happily be moving to Mcallen Texas judging by this list. When you look at the top states you need to look at the crime rates as well. The issue is not letting guns get into the hands of thugs and black marketeers. I know in Louisiana the majority of gun deaths are from black on black crime and focused mainly in New Orleans.

Responsible ownership and maintaining our constitutional right is the key.

I just wanted to say that I followed the link to the Daily Beast and got sidetracked for twenty minutes by the spread attached to the "J-Woww says she was under anesthesia when ex took naked photos of her! Exclusive!" article.
