mbmouse says----"Why Morrisstown and not a lot of other east Tennessee cities and towns ? I do not know"---

Tennessee is no different than any other state in the US.
The reason why some cities have them and others don't is---employment--that does not require skill, does not require english speaking, and an employer who does not scrutinize documents.

A telltale sign in southern states (and a key) word usually is--------poultry processing.

Maybe my post will help mbmouse answer her own question of------"why"

To answer the "why" question, I went to Morristown Chamber of Commerce and checked out the 25 top employers.

Yup, ranking at #3 was a business doing -------"poultry processing"

That explains the reason all across the United States.

Well, I don't know about anything else and don't want to incite anything, but it really is true about the poultry plants. We owned trucks and refrigerated trailers and mainly hauled chicken, and for a while I went with my Husband. I can tell you first hand after picking up chicken from plants all over the country, it is true that the hispanic population is much, much higher in those cities.

Are actions being taken by the authorities to bring this "problem" under control and if not why not?
As long as you aint trying to do construction work, you should be able to get a job.

That's my only complaint about illegals.

Default There is a major problem

The illegals in Morristown are overwhelming. The percentages "Relocation" gives you is about 20% off. Meaning, there are probably 30-40% hispanics living here.

If any one moves to morristown make sure you have good auto insurance because you will need it. None of these *******s have a tn driver lincense or auto ins. I have been hit 2 times in 3 years and the same old story no ins. and the cops do nothing about it. I mean the truth is the truth so no one needs to hide their head under the cover. blue collar

I've lived in Morristown for 44 years and yes we have a problem with illegals in the area but as far as changing my life......not in the least. If anything I've probably gained a little weight from all the great mexican food in the area. I've met several hispanics in the area and they have all been nothing but nice. All these statistics about crime, population, and home values is somthing I don't see. All or most of the crimes commited by the hispanic population are small things like DUI and things of that nature. That being said I know DUI charges are serious but nothing compared to murder, rape, and theft. The people being charged for doing that sort of thing are our good ole boys. I must be missing something but the best way I know how to explain it is there's not a street in Morristown that I would hesitate walking down at midnight.

If I say Gatlinburg has a problem with Russian and Polish people does that bother you? I doubt it and they are taking almost every service job in the area. I'm just saying the socalled "Mexican" problem in Morristown is more hype than an actual problem.
