Hello all. Just trying to get some insight. I have posted about schools but I was wondering where you would choose to live and why? My boyfriend and I plan on moving down within a year. I went back to school late in life, I'm 50, so when I am done we plan to move. My daughter I do not have to worry about. She is starting college but I will have my 2 boys... One is 15 and the other is turning 12.

Thank you so much.
Tanya

What will you be doing for work? That's something to consider.

Citrus is more rural than Hernando.

We live in Hernando but my wife works in Citrus. I work from home but travel all over the TB area.

Hello HWTechGuy ---

You seem to be the one helping me out!... Thank you. Well I am finishing up an LPN program so I would do that for work. Frankie is retired. I don't know if you remember, but in another post, I mentioned my boys... 15 and 12. I just want to do what is best for them.

Thank you.
Tanya

Good luck.

Once you have the Florida nursing license you should be able to find work. However, LPN salaries are lower than in PA. My wife was an LPN there. She was hurt on the job and didn't work for several years. Once we moved here, she felt good enough to get back to work.

She enrolled in an LPN to RN program here and is now working as an RN. She's enrolled in the RN to BSN program now.

I have a cabin on the Rainbow River and love Citrus and Marion counties. Dunno about schools. More rural feel. Lots of natural beauty and wildlife.

HWTechGuy --

Yes I know the salaries are lower in Florida... I'm in NY right now. I see you mentioned PA... where in PA did you live? I lived in Nazareth for 6 years but I am back home after my divorce. Good for your wife... That is awesome! I will see how far I will go. I don't know if I will continue. I feel I can't handle school anymore. I'm not 18 like my daughter! lol.
We like the Royal highlands area but we went to see a model home in Citrus and it was beautiful. Maybe too rural for my kids..

sinatras -- Thank you. My short time of Citrus county was looking at a Dream Customs Home model. It was beautiful out there but it might be too rural for my kids... We will see...

Near Philly. I meant to say "up north" but somehow threw PA in there instead.

Good luck.

I wouldn't worry about the rural aspect of things, other than the higher incidence of drug and alcohol abuse among teenagers and young adults in rural areas. The schools there are marginal at best. And considering Florida schools overall, that's not a good thing.
