Where are you coming from in St. Pete and where are you going to in Tampa, and how long/how bad is your commute?

I'm moving next month to a rental in Largo and commuting to downtown Tampa. Without traffic, it's 40 min.

Planning to buy in St. Pete soon...

Not my daily commute, but I do sometimes have 830 or 9am meetings in downtown Tampa; typically in the BoA building. It takes 40-45 minutes from my home (Old NE St. Pete) to parked in the garage. Via 275.

My commute up untll last year, I drove from Lutz ( directly behind Idlewild Baptisit) to Seminole , near Park Blvd and Starkey rd. I left my house daily @ 415 am. Drove south on the Lee Roy Selmon to the Howard Franklin, to SR688 to the Bally Health Club @ US19 and SR688. Stayed there an hour then headed south on US19 to Park Blvd, then @ work.
I would get to work about 7 am. Coming home I would leave at 6 pm, get home about 730pm.
Sometimes alittle earlier. Same route heading home. I spent about 300 per month in gas and another 50 in tolls.
I don't miss this at all !

I frequently commute from NE St Pete to Ybor. Gandy/4th to the downtown Tampa exit via Gandy/Crosstown in 12-15 minutes, Ybor in 15-20.

Just checked traffic on google... from my workplace to the house I'm renting, and the one I might be purchasing. 5pm on a Friday and it says 45 min. Not too bad.

Not bad, I think 45 minutes is a decent commute if your in a place you want to live.

Gandy to the crosstown will shave 15 min off and add 5 bucks to that commute
