Hello. My family is relocating to Tampa this summer. I have three small kids under the age of 10. I'd like to rent for a year while we get our bearings on the area. Unfortunately I see limited options on sites like zillow, trulia. I notice that each property management company shows different listings.

Is there an MLS style site that has a central repository of all listings in Tampa? Or better yet, is there a rental agent that anyone can recommend?

I am looking for a home in the $3-5k/month range around Westchase area.

Thank you.

No central repository.

Your best bet is to find a real estate agency that will help or a property management firm. Craigslist is another possibility.

You may note that there is a thread that I just started about investment firms who are buying up properties and flipping them as rentals. There are three or four of these firms in the area doing this, so I would check a real estate site like Zillow that shows rentals and you'll start to see some of the same names come up with regularity.

At least one of these firms has a management company web site that lists their rentals, but I have to apologize because I don't recall the name. I'm sure if you look at the homes showing up as rentals on sites such as Zillow you'll figure it out.

I like using hotpads or padmapper ...it's kind of a combination of apt website listings, craigslist, and more. That's where I've been able to find homes/condos/townhouses for rent. Sometimes by owner, sometimes through rental agencies.
