Hello,

If you are planning on moving to this area, how do you plan on doing it?

I'm really interested to see if more people are renting or buying and in what areas.

Thanks!

Renting in Lakeland, FL...Don't care that it's 45 mins away from Tampa, it's nice and it's cheaper

I recommend you rent first if you are not familiar with the area so you can decide where you really want to live. The poster above is renting in Lakeland, but he may very well decide that is not where he wants to live for the next 10+ years after he's been there for a while. You can rent for a year and then buy if your ultimate goal is to buy. Prices will still be low a year from now around here.

If you are looking to stay in Tampa for next 5-20 years, then rent for a year or so and then buy a house/condo. Don't run into buying cause you might get stuck in a place that you don't really want to be.

I'm renting, but i don't see myself staying here past 5 years, unless something happens.
