I wonder if our water is hard here in Apollo Beach area. I notice the soap doesn't sud like it did back home (we had a water softner) and our glasses are coming out of the dishwasher with a dusty film on them. It seems to wipe off but I am thinking our water is harder. Also my husband says he thinks there is chlorine in the water? Does this sound right? I have been drinking water from the fridge dispenser and wonder if we should buy bottled or a Brita filter. Taste okay but feels like a chalky film is left on glasses and that seems odd to ingest.

From your description your water sounds hard. I think the water here tastes awful. We have a water cooler dispense and I refill our four 5 gallon jugs 3 times before exchanging them for new Primo Water filled jugs (I think Zephryhills bottles water is gross). I refill the jugs at the Glacier Water machines outside of stores for $1.25 for 5 gallons. Our freezer has a filter on it which makes our ice.

I am using Blair Water now for our soft water, got it installed last week. It's about $40 a month for the service, but it's a much better quality unit than I could buy for under $1000 and I don't have to add salt, replace resin or worry about any sort of maintenance. Before having this service we did not have a water softener. I must say, I love the new water. Yep, it's silky feeling... which I like. I notice a lot more suds in the shower and my hair feels better. My 6 year old freaked out because he thought he still had soap on his hands when rinsing them off because they were slippery when wet. HAHAHA.

I am going to buy jug water. My keurig and shark vac can't handle hard water either.

I might look into the Blair Water. I rent the house so is it something I can have installed and then removed when my lease is up?

Yup. My neighbor works for them and people who rent love the service for that exact reason. Heck, he said people in condos have them installed in their closet sometimes. LOL.
