I am currently living in Port Charlotte and thinking about moving closer to the Tampa area. I am hoping that someone can put me in some good places to look for a home in the price range of up to $225,000. We do not want to be in the downtown area. Looking for a suburban-safe area within a decent commute for boating/fishing and work- I am an RN and will have something lined up prior to moving from Port Charlotte. Any chance of finding a home on a salt water canal for this price? Thanks for any help you can offer

Look into the Carrolwood, Northdale and Westchase area

There are a few homes that meet that criteria. Maybe just a little higher in price.

Also, if you are an RN you and only down from us a short distance, I assume you already know of all the BIG hospitals here.
