Moving to Tampa form DC area. Need some suggestions for a cool area. (St. Petersburg: apartments, condo)

My wife and I are looking for something around the 3 to 400 range wor a future with a dock. Would love to have access to hit the gulf from the water. Was looking at Apollo beach area but don't like the idea of the industrial area and smoke stacks. Any area suggestions are much appreciated.

we just moved here from alexandria.

in my research i found absolutely nothing in that range. even if you paid that much as "your half" of the rent, your options would be severely limited unless you like 1 bedroom apartments.

i imagine you'd have to move pretty far outside of the tampa/st. pete area to find something that inexpensive.

Hmm I think I goofed a bit I was meaning the in 300,000 to 400,000 range to buy. I found a few on apollo beach, just not sure about that area.

I would assume that was 3-400 as in thousands, and that they were looking to buy, not rent.
If so, you will find dock and water access to the gulf in north pinellas, a quick search on realtor. com found 2 with a dock and gulf access in palm harbor for 399, and 350k. and 1 townhouse in dunedin for 350k

You must be fairly good with realtor.com. I cant seem to get the site to search only houses with water access so I started to use mapquest to find a street that looks like it could be a good location and google the street name.

Yes, it is posible to find something in that range. Just not in any beach, but with access to water, like Cariad has pointed out to you.

There are a few just south of Hillsborough Ave off Longboat Boulevard. The zip code is 33615 and the neighborhoods are Bay Port, Palm Bay, and Tampa Shores. This area has deep water canals out into Old Tampa Bay. Palm Bay has a small sandy beach. They also have docks & lifts for resident's homes not on waterfront.

Another option to consider would be to look for riverfront properties along the Alafia or Hillsborough Rivers but these might push your budget too far.

I went to realtor.com and when it asked for location put in palm harbor fla, and your price range-200 to 400,000 then hit the advanced search button, then property types, single family and condo/town-I didn't specify any # of bed/bath


under basic on the left of the page hit other nearby areas button and check crystal beach, ozona, dunedin, I didn't check tarpon springs because hitting this area will give you lots of lake tarpon canals and waterfront)
hit lot and community button and check waterfront and community boatdock

also check sort by high low and the 2nd house on the list is the 399k ph house w/ dock. the others I mentioned are a few houses down the list. I didn't look thru the entire list of 24 but there is also one on a lagoon in ozona, and more.........ignore the ones without gulf acess.

Do not check Ocean view, there is no ocean on the west coast of florida and this will give you 0 results.

I don't know if this will put you out of your price range but I do recommend Snell Isle in St. Petersburg. Most of the houses are on canals, and nearly all of them have docks. Good neighborhood.
