carsdirect has it for $35.1k full loaded for the 2.0XT with Eyesight package, the dealers are just trying to make a quick buck because it's new.
The one thing that is a glaring omission is that on a $35k car I expect both driver and passenger seats to be power, infact in this vehicle the passenger seat is MANUAL! Ridiculous, it should've been at least 4-way power.
Also considering the RDX. Much more upscale and I can get a 2013 fully loaded for around $38,300. Granted I would have to settle for a little worse 4x4 system but I think it would be more than adequate for almost all situations that I would be in.
I think the Subaru works well in the lower trims but the 2.0XT at $36k does not seem worth it since the cabin is not sufficiently upgraded to be comparable to other vehicles in this price range. Note, that a 2013 Acura MDX mid-sized with a whole bevy of features that would put the Forester to shame and including Super Handling All wheel drive is being priced now at $42,000, that's not substantially more than what Subaru is asking for the 2.0XT given that the MDX is a few moons above in terms of class.
I'm a diehard Subaru fan, but why anyone would pay that kind of money for a Forester is beyond me.
Agreed. I would have paid even less for the one I found, but I generally don't prefer to buy cars that have very high mileage...
