What the first reviewer on this post said is true. The city's population peaked at over 850,000 around 1950, but since then about 60% of the people have left for St. Louis County, so now it's only about 350,000. A little-known fact is that Forest Park is actually larger than Central Park, and even better, the museums there as well as the St. Louis Zoo are free! A very scenic and navigable area indeed.
