This is pretty cool. Might actually bring in some tourism to Washington Avenue

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Actor John Goodman is the new face for a proposed National Blues Museum in St. Louis.

The St. Louis native made a video that was published on YouTube Sunday to show support for the fundraising effort to build the $13 million facility on Washington Avenue.

In the video Goodman says the video will tell the story of the Blues, the foundation of modern American music.

Officials hope to open the first-ever National Blues Museum in late 2014.

Yeah this is a pretty quiet forum. Just a handful of regular posters.

As a huge fan of Blues music (and John Goodman), this plan has my strong support. Good job St. Louis.

I think it was a smart idea to put it on Washington Avenue.

I play and am interested in blues music, so it would be good to keep the thread going. Though I occasionally search, not many blues threads out there. Are there any updates on this museum?
St. Louis seems like a good place for it. Does it have funding?
