I heard the humidity in summer is horrible (I am totally not used to humidity). Any personal insight?

It's pretty intense. You start sweating as soon as you step outside.

LoL...not as bad as some places...summers are hot though, and winters can be cold...this year has been hotter than normal, but it still never compared to the near south as far as humidity was concerned...but it's significantly more noticeable than say Denver. Worst I've experienced for "summer feelings" was Jacksonville, FL where even at 80° you'd start sweating walking outside, and you couldn't keep your sunglasses from fogging over EVER!

Meh, it is pretty terrible. The springs are nice. But each summer is different. Missouri has some very variant weather.

The Humidity is really not bad. It's not NEARLY as bad as the South (the Carolinas where I'm currently stuck), or Australia for that matter. Summers in St. Louis are totally manageable from my perspective, and I hate hate hate the heat. When my husband and I were in St. Louis a few weeks back, it was in the high 80s low 90s, but it really didn't feel that bad to either of us.

As for Winter, as I mentioned in my PM, it's not as bad as places like Minnesota, but there is snow, there is cold, there is freezing rain. It is a bit of an adjustment at first but you get used to it pretty quick. After your first winter it gets easier because you know what to expect!

You'll be fine I realize it's a big transition... but St. Louis is a wonderful city, and you'll end up loving having the distinct 4 seasons

I never thought either was that bad, but my favorite season in St. Louis is by far the fall, wonderful time of year there.

Summer's not the best part about St. Louis by any stretch of the imagination, but it's certainly not unbearable. There really isn't much to winter (unless you have a long commute that gets longer in bad weather) and at least it's dry!

I moved from Phoenix and the biggest thing I notice is that none of the seasons last very long. The winters are shorter than the ones in Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. The summers are shorter than those in the Phoenix, by a long shot. So you get awesome weather in the Spring and Fall for about 1/2 the year. As an example it's the middle of June right now and I don't even feel like summer has hit yet. Most days when I go driving around during the day I don't even use my AC. It was very hot inside Busch Stadium on Sunday, but I think that the stadium must add to the outside temp, because we felt much better after leaving. While it does get humid I've noticed that usually when the temp rises the humidity drops. There have been several days where early in the day it was mid 80's with humidity above 60%. By late afternoon the temp had risen to low 90's, but the humidity had dropped to the mid 40's.

I miss the dryness of the desert, in all four seasons, actually.

Humidity is a problem but no where near cities like atlanta, orlando, dallas, houston, memphis. It would only seem severe if your from WAYY up north like Minnesota or Montana. Winter is horrible only if you like a large amount of snow otherwise its fine
