Hi, can anyone who lives in the area, give me an idea of what rush hour commute would be from the Claymont area of Chesterfield to Clayton? thanks

rough estimate 25-35 minutes. The most annoying part of the commute would probably be getting to 141 and taking that to I-64, the rest should be painless. Traffic does back up in that area during the morning and afternoon, but i wouldn't expect a whole lot more than an extra 5-10 minutes so maybe 35-45 in traffic. I would assume that the amount of time you'd be on the highway would be approximately 10-15 minutes w/o traffic...maybe a little less depending on how fast you drive...but watch out, east of I-270 and prior to Brentwood (specifically around Spoede Rd) is a speed trap...cops like to sit on the roundabout exits, and entrance ramps waiting for some unlucky guy in his 911....

I agree. Once you get to I-64, ~10 minutes on I-64 to get to I-170, and ~5 minutes from there to where ever you are going in Clayton. (e.g. I-170 to Forest Park Parkway to Central Ave to get into downtown).
The annoying part will be getting up to I-64.

I live north of Olive approximately the same distance west, so it is much easier for me to get to I-64. During rush hour, it takes me 25 minutes to get to Clayton in the morning and 20 minutes to get back from Clayton in the evening. I occasionally have to do mid-day trips from Olive/I-64 to Clayton, and can easily do those in under 15 minutes.

I do not have experience with coming up 141, but it seems like it can get pretty clogged during rush hour.

141 will clog North of I-64 between there and Olive Blvd. Typically the more "interstate" styled 141 will run pretty well, especially on the very very short stretch between Clayton and I-64...The somewhat difficult spot would be on Clayton Rd, i've ridden through there at rush hour and it can be a pain. Taking Olive to I-64 is doable also, but that stretch has been known to be somewhat heavy with traffic a couple times a day, but it might be better than taking Clayton to 141...I think the times will vary by a couple minutes, to find what you think is the fastest, your best bet would be to test different routes after moving there

I live right next to Parkway North high school in a large subdivision known as Robinwood West. The elementary schools in this area have lower test scores than Claymont, but that is mainly do to this being a lower income area (relatively). Basically, this is the section of Parkway where people move who want to be in Parkway but cannot afford the high rent areas of the district. Lots of apartment buildings in particular.
Still amazing schools and a great district though.

I think my commute is so quick because I have easy access to I-270, which means quick access to I-64.
