U.S. Open........a slew of guys giving everything they have to make a name for themselves in one of the biggest sporting events around.......and all I've seen is TIGER WOODS - ROUND THE CLOCK....... EVERYWHERE! HE'S NOT EVEN IN CONTENTION!

I am SO SICK of ESPN and their "big boys only" agenda. Baseball.......have they even showed anything besides a Mets, Yankees or Red Sox game this year? Daily reports on what that freak Manny Ramirez is up to during his suspension.....while scores of on the field happenings around the league get ignored. Basketball...... the LeBron and Kobe network. They don't show hockey games anymore, so no need to cover it. You wouldn't have even known the Stanley Cup playoffs were going on if ESPN were all you had.

ESPN is on the fast track to becoming the next MTV. Not a big fan of FOXsports either, but I'm going with them and the other outlets instead of constantly being subjected to the "Entertainment Tonight" version of sports reporting.

Yea it was moronic, they had him on the TV warming up while the leaders are out there golfing. I don't think we will see the day when their lips come off Tigers butt.

ESPN has been crap for the better part of a decade. I don't see how Tiger's fellow golfers can like him so much when everything is about Tiger Woods. Also, ESPN stands for:

Eastcoast Sports Programming Network

If it ain't Boston or New York City...ESPN will ignore it.

If you can't see why a company that makes their money off advertising revenue would show every shot from the vastly most popular player on tour, I can't help you.

Same goes for anyone complaining about big market team's highlights being empahasized or those whining over them focusing on sensational, overblown stories. Topics like Tiger Woods every golf shot even when losing, Lane Kiffin being a cheating scoundrel, and T.O. being a team killer MAKE MONEY, even when truely they are insignificant and/or down right false.

They only talk about the Lakers because the Knicks suck.

Same BS in football. If the Cowboys do anything it's all they talk about. If Chad Johnson or TO says anything it's the lead story.

espn has been like that for as long as I can remember, they love to celebrate the individual athlete, they can do no wrong. it's an agenda. if people don't like the athletes and don't hero worship them they are less important.

did you see the closing montage of shots for the NBA finals? I think literally 80% of the pictures were of Kobe. it's just rediculous.

i'm not a big basketball fan but I do like the Lakers (since the 80's) and wanted to watch some of the finals but I just can't stand the coverage.

Kobe was at the dodgers/angels game last night and they showed a great play that was made and Kobe said "wow" about that great play and they actually showed him doing that in slow motion. real important espn. and of course they show him leaving being mobbed by fans left and right. again, it's all celebrity.

it's always peyton vs. Tom brady and the patriots. never team. the whole highlights they show, it's all dunks and big plays like that.

with all thier original programming they have become like MTV.

they used to make fun of arena football, now it's great because they have the rights to it.

see, this is the problem with the average american sports fan. you don't expect more because you've never been shown more. you're too used to uneven coverage, too used to commercialised broadcasts, too used to the idea that ratings are more important than fairness, too used to seeing 6 mins of Olympic coverage and 5mins of commercials. it's normal to you.

money is more important than anything in america and the fans are actually complicant in letting the broadcasters get away with it!

I love how fans now activly talk about and discuss the size of the market of teams in the finals and how that will effect the ratings. if you're a fan of the sport you'd watch no matter what market size it is.

if you're a hockey fan watch the CBC or Sportsnet coverage, if you're a soccer fan watch the BBC or Setanta or Live sports coverage, I guarantee you you will have less commercials, more succinent anaylasis and play by play calls. the sport will be treated with integrity and seriousness without everything being a joke. you'll realise how far behind american sports broadcasting really is.
