to be fair, each host city has always been allowed to make-up their own sport to have the athletes compete in at their particular games. Admittedly I'm no expert on Brazil but, I would have thought they would have elected to choose Samba to compete in rather than Sewage however.
I guarantee you that this is just the tip of the iceberg for troubles. When I saw that Rio was going to host the 2016 Olympics, I knew it was going to be trouble. If you thought the missing lightbulbs, TVs,chairs, curtains, wifi, water and other things in Sochi was bad, wait to you see all the shoddy work that will be on display next summer in Rio. Construction is way behind schedule. Ughh..can you imagine being in that sewage water. I see tons of lawsuits on hand for Rio next year.
Not to mention the Brazilian people are against hosting this joke aka paying for it. Seems the ultimate folly to waste so much money on billion dollar venues when so many in Brazil live in abject poverty.
The US OC should boycott these games...and the IOC should cancel them...
Blame it on Brazil and the people there...they promised to clean their mess up but instead have done nothing...the athletes aren't safe there...can't even drink the water there...pull the plug on them and demand that any city that plans to host the games already have the infrastructure in place to handle it.
3rd world crap holes should never be considered to host such prestigious events.
If I'm an athlete, I'm not going to put my life on the line just for a medal.
Kind of gives new definition to the term S*** Creek doesn't it ?
I see what you did there...
