This would be my bet based on the first three matches.

But Ireland- what happened? They got the win, but just barely. Did anyone watch that match? Was Ireland really awful, or did Italy man up and play a great game?

I'm watching from the U.S.
Bit of both, I reckon.

I was very surprised by the England-Italy score. Not that I'm so high on Italian rugby, but I didn't think that this England squad had it in them to totally throttle an opponent. This could really galvanize the team, and their match against France will be huge.

Interesting note: Chris Ashton is two tries away from tying the single-tournament try record. Any takers for saying he gets it?

Also, I was somewhat surprised by Scotland's all-around poor performance. They showed some flashes of respectability against France, and I haven't been too impressed with the Welsh's sloppy play under Gatland, but they still got soundly defeated.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the England game yesterday but it sounded like a proper demolition job a la against Italian teams 10 years ago. Can't see anything stopping Chris Ashton with a home match against Scotland still to come Good game today though I was hoping Ireland would snatch a draw as that'd make our job easier, but bring on the French!

Huge win for England today; with the lead in points, a huge lead in point differential, and a match against Scotland remaining, it's hard not to see them winning the tournament.

^^ Yep, I'd say the title is almost certain now but it's the Grand Slam that I'm more interested in, so it'll all go down to the final day. It would be great if we did win the Grand Slam, not just because I'm English and it'd be a boost going into the WC a la 2003 but it'd be four consecutive GS's by four different countries, which hasn't happened since the 1890s when it was just the Four Nations anyway. Neither game today was exactly pretty but pretty competitive stuff!
