There are actually a few places, but we're more into the chains. That way you always know what you will end up with.
Have you tried out Marlin's Restaurant? It's the one that used to be the I-90 Truck stop and it's right off the interstate. Actually it's fairly close to Cabela's. But order small cause the portions are huge.
Windtimber suggested a restaurant, too that I hadn't even thought of. It's over in the area of the new Highland mall and the Hampton and new Comfort Inn. Irish Pub, I believe it's called.
The Depot is down on the south end of main and some people enjoy it there. We actually have a LOT of restaurants here.
Red Meat, I love red meat. Ok sorry I sort of hijacked this tread asking for restuarant suggestions. Thanks for the suggestions will try one of those next time I sneek north across the border.
South Dakota's Custer State Park is home to a herd of 1500 free-roaming bison, 1448 of which must be cut from the roster by the time they play the Budweiser Clydesdales in this year's Superbowl commercial.

you can't hijack this thread!
Chef Louie's....I haven't been there, since it reopened. My dad's fav. place is Marlin's (I 90)....
Whiskey Creek is better in Nebraska, than in Mitchell, from what I've heard (several times)......I've been there twice, and not going back. Not going back, to Ruby T's again,either.....maybe I've just been there on a "bad" day? However, I was not impressed, at either place............
Better watch out I might take you up on that someday!! Hey its nice to still be getting some rain this late. Got a feeling we will wish for more in August.
Need some new eating places in Mitchell to try out, something family style, not into the fast food, any suggestions?
Perkins and Country Kitchen are my favorites for that. The Brig and Chef Louie's are OK.
I've been to the Chef since it was re-opened. Not bad. Haven't been to the Brig in years. Some others not mentioned:
Scoreboard - limited menu but corn on the cob!
Jackpot
Someone said that the place next to Thirsty's is great, but I've never been there.
Is that BBQ place closed (in the old Hardee's building)?
Twin Dragon.
There was also a little place kind of where Godfather's used to be, can't remember the name.
Steak n More has good food. I just recently read something in the paper and it made me wonder if there were new owners or something. It said something about a Grand RE-opening.
Yup, the BBQ place in the old Hardees closed a few months ago.
Perkins is still my number one pick.
