We have lived in Cleveland, Ohio and are looking to relocate. The cities we are looking at: Charleston, Greenville, Ashville and Jacksonville, FL. Schools are most important followed close by weather. We can do private and my husband can work anywhere. We want a community that accepts newcommers but still has a sense of family.

If you could live anywhere, where would you go?

Look no further than Greenville, South Carolina (http://www.greatergreenville.com/ - broken link). OK...let me rephrase that. Look at Greenville first, then look at the others and you'll come back to Greenville.

Check out Ft Mill SC. We moved here a short time ago from Colorado and absolutely LOVE it! The schools are awesome and people are extremely friendly and helpful. You get a small town feel with all the amenities of living near Charlotte. The best of both worlds!

I agree with the above posts. If you want a great, large metro, the Ft. Mill/Tega Cay/Lake Wylie area is a great choice. If you want a medium-sized metro, Greenville/Spartanburg would be my choice. Both are excellent areas that are great for families and have wonderful qualities-of-life.

You've got to go with Greenville for raising families. I know of no better city to enjoy those few precious years you'll have together in one house. What makes Greenville so great is more than its surrounding natural beauty, moderate annual climate, and big city amenities - it is the broad spectrum of warm and friendly people who have come from places around the globe bringing their various traditions and cultures to this city. It is as close to "perfection" as you'll find anywhere you look.
