My fiancee and I are going to be moving to the greater Gaffney area in May after our wedding. She works in Charlotte, and I work in Clemson, so Gaffney is a good half-way point. Other than the peach water tower off I-85, neither of us are familiar with the area.
Generally speaking, what would rent on a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment/townhouse, or a small house look like? Other livings costs (utilities)? Are there areas that are generally nice neighborhoods, or neighborhoods to avoid (higher crime)? No kids, so school ratings aren't a concern, at least not for a few years anyways.
I also may be moving to the Gaffney area. I've heard it's not a good place to live. So where would ya'll suggest buying a house within 30 minutes of Gaffney?
I do not think Gaffney is a bad place to reside. It leaves much to be desired with more industry, more jobs, and better quality of living.
