This final ceremony is strange, now that for the first time the third-place game referees got bronze medals for covering the night before. Now officials receiving medals is becoming a thing. Who get's the silver?

Officials getting a medal or other commemorative is pretty old. In football its at least 30 years old, but in track, I know it goes back way longer than that. Its just on TV now.

I really did not enjoy seeing the head of FIFA (Infanti?) lording over the ceremony - he is an egotistical buffoon, surely there must be a senior female FIFA rep who could have done this.

I was more disgusted by Luis Rubiales' mere presence let alone his handsy and kissing adult women on the lips, which is NOT acceptable behavior in Spain or any other county. Spanish newspapers are writing about how wrong it was today. His comments about womens' football are terrible and he should not have been there. I hope he gets fired.

Okay. I'm not sure the conduct deserve a minimizer like "only" since it is so vile. But okay, he only assaulted one woman. Assaulting women should never be tolerated.

Jenni Hermoso said she 'didn't like' it. The assaulter should be fired.

Its getting press coverage in the US, but I suspect it will not get the same coverage in Spain or Europe. There are lots of calls for him to be fired or even to resign. I doubt anything will happen.

he may have only kissed one player on the lips but he was way over the top with his hugging and squeezing, frankly it looked embarrassing
