Lloyd also won the Golden Ball.
She was bad-ass today ... defenders bouncing off her like bowling pins.
Love the shot from half-line. That really shook the Japanese goalie.

HOW ABOUT THEM GIRLS!

As a former soccer dad, I could not be more proud of the 2015 US Women's Soccer Team.

They won in the grandest of ways, without controversy or doubt. They appeared jubilant, but did not gloat over their opponent. That was classy and humble of them.

Gotta love it!

it seemed strange that ESPN had two talking heads describing the game and no video. Does FIFA control it that tightly?

I should have tuned in earlier in the cup.
Yep! This Women's World Cup was a clinic in how soccer should be played, in my opinion!

Greatly enjoyed the post-game ceremonies!

Lloyd was a MONSTER in this game!

That was a super, over-the-goalie shot from, what, 54 yards? That poor goalie was totally under attack!

Been following Kelly O'Hara and Christen Press since their Stanford days.
In addition, some of these athletes are hot so it makes it easier to watch:
Alex Morgan, Ali Krieger, Julie Johnston, and Press.

Look for Krieger in ESPN's Body Issue.

No award but I think Lloyd made a really classy move passing on the captain's armband when Wambach subbed in.
