Lol well I am done with this debate if you don't think Rooney is world class, it is obvious that he is. But world class players need to be in a good team to shine.

My only criticism of Rooney is that he became too much of a traditional centre forward. He used to be able to dribble and take players on. In fact, that's how Sir Alex noticed him in the first place, when Rooney was just 17 years old and playing for Everton in a game against United at Old Trafford. He was exciting back then.

No I dont. It depends how you look at world class. What is a world class player? I think there is only 4 world class players in the world. Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi and Iniesta. Someone once told me that a world class player is someone everyone would have in their team. Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi and Iniesta would be in most people's team. Rooney would not.

No they dont. World class players can play in any team. Rooney cant but Rooney does play in a good team. Man Utd and England are good teams. England have a lot of injuries. I think Englands best player is Jack Wilshere. He is an amazing footballer and he will only get better.

Rooney can't do it all himself. He's an amazing talen, but he's surrounded by under-performing players that are more concerned with defending than attacking. He can't score goals when he doesn't get adequate crosses or have chances created in front of goal. If he had a team like the Spanish team or the Potugal team creating chances and delivering crosses to him, he'd be in another stratosphere.

Agreed. Plus I do think Gerrard was world class midway through the last decade but it seems like they days are gone, but he will always be remembered for his important goals, style of play and passing which made him a joy to watch in the past.
