I am being transferred to Bothell this month. Am inquiring on which neighborhoods are recommeded northwest or northeast of Seattle. Need to be within a half hour emergency recall for work. Looking for new smaller 1+ bedroom Eco-friendly Condo \ Townhome \Cottage rental housing ($1200 to $1500 until we can sell a home Denver.) Spouse and I are DINK and we live in a university district now, but are NOT students anymore, and have no children. U of W would be to far south because of traffic? Looking for hip, styling homes within walking distance to shops, resturants, pubs, natural foods stores, etc. Not chains, like to the support local economy. Then how long a commute would I see to North Bothell?

I'm thinking Lake Forest Park. Not as hip as the U district, but a lot closer to Bothell, and it has Third Place Books, which is a bookstore/cafe/bakery/meeting room.

Check out Mill Creek!

We just moved here and think it's pretty cool. It has all that stuff you talked about. Maybe Silver lake too?
