I cleaned up in NYC and Chicago and punched above my weight. I actually look better now than before because I lost weight and put on more lean muscle but am doing significantly worse dating wise. Location matters. A LOT.
This is what the guys say, but the average Janes in Seattle remain invisible to men, and dateless. The same is true in and around San Jose.

Default Seattle

All you people never lived here before the last decade, sounds like. I've lived all over Washington and that poster was right about Seattle. It is suckage. Oh if only you could have seen Seattle in the 60's and 70's. You'd be crying instead of defending. It does suck, it is an unhappy place, and I love Washington not Seattle.

Everyone seems to be dating there cellphones that most people look unapproachable. If we think you don't even have time to take a pee why would you give a guy the time of day.

if you are a passive person who expects life to happen to you and you get most of your stimulus from your environment and the consumption of goods and entertainment, then seattle is a soulless place - most places are, in fact, expect for megalopolises. if you're the type of person who is creative and full of energy, spark and ideas, you can have a fulfilling life in a ho-hum town. the former are entitled and boring people. the latter know how to work for it and create something out of nothing.

Downtown Seattle is boring and sterile. Vancouver, on the other hand, is totally a different story: dynamic, fun, exciting and world class in every way

Go try to sell your ideas to Jeff Besos and Bill Gates and see how far you get. I'm happy that you're on a thorazine drip, although it must be hard to travel.
I would suggest checking out Candy Tyme in Westlake Mall. As a representative of The Lollipop Guild, you might score some free candy.
If you're creative and full of energy could you please secure a position on the planning commitee for the City of Seattle? I want it to be a happy energetic city again.

I never claimed to be an entrepreneur or a businessperson. I just know how to keep myself busy and entertained without having to fall back on stores, restaurants, sporting events, concerts, etc. All those people who complain about needing to live in world-class cities are boring consumers and imbibers - basically, yuppies and normies. Get some hobbies, work out, read, etc. Instead of complaining about how there is not enough Afghanistani cuisine in Seattle proper, go buy some ingredients and cook the meal yourself. Instead of saying there's not enough public transportation, ride a bike or walk. Instead of whining about the lack of diversity, go make some new friends. It's true that only boring people are bored.

Sure would be nice if the people complaining about Seattle would quickly relocate to another location. Why suffer when a better place can be found? We are growing ridiculously fast, with cranes everywhere. The midwest will be cheaper and maybe they will have a better chance finding a date. If New York or Chicago is preferable, by all means, go to there. Life is too short to be so unhappy.

Seattle once again nation’s fastest-growing big city; population exceeds 700,000

"For the first time, Seattle is adding more people on average each year than during the post-Gold-Rush boom years. We’ve never grown this fast, and we’ve never been this populous."
