Two dudes talking about opera, better be careful or the Russian troll factories will be calling us "snowflakes" soon. Quick let's switch to rock and roll, I saw an amazing AC DC tribute band called Problem Child this July 4th, true actually .

Haha I'd say it's more in the "snobby elitist" territory rather than "snowflake"
Ohh I haven't done any rock concerts in Seattle yet but might grab tickets for something random one of the days when I am in stay-at-home mood and don't want to go running-hiking-biking-skiing.

Eugene, you're just a coastal elite, opera snob, hoodie wearing, antifa rock and roller!

Haha thanks for the kind words! I am more of an aspiring coastal elite / opera snob though but my wife is actively working on me!

- That people are actually willing to pay more taxes in exchange for increased services that better the community (e.g. multiple light rail extensions underway)

- Relatively few light rail/streetcar tracks in the middle of the street (unlike many other cities)

- No major high-crime, "don't go there"-level neighborhoods like most large metros have

- Bus coverage that extends not just throughout the city, but way into the suburbs

- Even the older generations here seem pretty culturally liberal and open-minded

- Not overly obsessed with fashion and trends like some big cities, but also not sloppy

- Nature is genuinely easily accessible a short distance to the east, which normally only smaller metros have

- Surprisingly old and pretty housing stock

Extremely good medical care. I'm sitting in Children's Hospital right now with my daughter, dealing with an infected salivary gland. The team of doctors, bedside manner and holistic culture is excellent.

the Transit-to-Trailhead bus service:

www.seattletraffic.org/take-transit-to-trails

Its 2019 season just ended (last weekend), but it'll be back in April.

This is an amazing service, I didn't know about it! Will definitely use it next year for those days when I want to hike something but don't feel like driving.

I should've said, "I hope it'll be back next April."

Apparently, it's not a certainty.

I just love this place. Water, mountains, diverse food, not judgemental
