What would you miss most if you had to move away from Seattle against your will?

I'd miss the weather. I love it when it's overcast and I'm all rugged up and can feel the cool air against my face. I've always found cool, cloudy weather invigorating. Also in the right clothes I can exercise outdoors year-round, whereas back home running in summer felt like I had a plastic bag over my mouth.

I'd also miss the proximity to skiing/snowboarding. I go once or twice a week to make up for 29 years of being too scared to try snowboarding. A friend was trying to recruit my husband to the Bay Area and mentioned that their resorts weren't too far - a mere 4 hour drive to Lake Tahoe.

Also Rachel's Ginger Beer. Holy crap that stuff is liquid crack.

The trees, the mountain views, the cold winter weather, the people and culture, the food, the wine...everything?

the weather, how stunning everything is, a relatively thriving economy, being able to hike endlessly, never-ending road trip options.

I didn't move, but I was away for nearly two months this past summer and the thing I missed (besides what others have wrote) was the civic value in recycling and composting.
