Hey guys!

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. I will be in Seattle for just a day on Saturday. I am flying back home to NY but since I have more than 12 hours layover I thought it might be fun to explore the city and learn few things about it. I know I don't have that much time and there are a lot of places I could visit but I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions where I could go.

Thanks so much!
Steve

The Olympic Sculpture Park is an outdoor exhibit of sculptures on a hillside overlooking Puget Sound and Elliott Bay. The scenery is great and the walk is very pleasant. (I tend to spend a lot more time looking at the ships and mountains rather than the sculptures.) It's at the north end of the downtown Waterfront, not terribly far from Seattle Center.

The museum that best captures the essence of Seattle is the Museum of History and Industry at the south end of Lake Union. Seattle doesn't have a truly great art museum, nothing on the level of what you find in New York City.

space needle for sure! take the monorail from westfield mall. I spent a day in Seattle last week and I was only able to scratch the surface. I'm moving there in a few months.

Bumbershoot is a lot of fun! I think the poster is just telling a one day tourist it would not be a place to be - big crowds.

If you are coming from the airport, allow an hour from/at least two or three hours back for travel, check in security. I'd just take light rail downtown, walk around, go to Pike Place Market, enjoy a waterfront meal.

For sure. Just be prepared for a mob scene, and if you can go during the least crowded hours, do so.
