Hello,
Looks like I may be relocating to Seattle for my job. So I'm starting to do some research now.

We have a son who will be going into second grade. He's been in a dual language immersion program (Spanish and English) since kindergarten. We would really like to continue with his bilingual education. I saw on the public schools website that there are international schools, but I didn't see anything about how to enroll in these schools. Does it depend on zone? A lottery system?

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

They're primarily the neighborhood school, meaning your child will be automatically assigned to that school if you live in the attendance area. John Stanford International in Wallingford has a stellar reputation. I have a friend whose son goes to Beacon Hill International , and both the son and his parents love the place. Beacon Hill has a fair number of students whose first language is Spanish.
If you live in a different neighborhood, I believe there are mechanisms to allow your child to go to an International School, but waiting lists are large.

I have met two families that moved to Bellevue so that their children can attend a Spanish immersion program. I know it's a popular program and I don't know what the opportunities would be for someone moving into the district.

F.A. McDonald Elementary now has a Spanish immersion program too. It's in the Seattle School District north of Wallingford.

Their PTA site describing the immersion program: click here

Thank you for the input everyone. I'm the OP. I couldn't access my account for some reason, so I created a new one. I think maybe I made a mistake with my email address when I registered.
Anyway, do any of you know anything about Concord International School?
